This allows your customers who do not have a website, to create a website using their own domain or subdomain, with the information drawn from their listing in your GoldRoo directory.
It means that even the corner store can have their own website, and all they have to do is update their listing on your GoldRoo directory.
Here are the main features of the Listing Website mod:
- Your customers can just submit their data to your directory, and this will generate the stand-alone website content
- Use any domain name or subdomain to create a site for even the smallest business or organization
- No need to get web designers, hosting etc
- Your customers can update their website anytime by simply updating their listing
- Having a stand-alone website rather than just a listing allows for your customers to post LiveNews to your directory pages and their own website
- Your customers can promote their business better
- Download the listingwebsite.zip file
- Create a folder in the root folder of your GoldRoo directory site, for example yoursite.com/sites (make sure the folder name is not used as a category URL in your directory)
- Extract all the files from the ZIP file and upload them to your new folder
- A customer adds a listing to your directory in the normal way
- There are two options for the website you will create:
- Use a subdomain of your website, for example website.goldroo.com
- Use a separate domain, for example goldroo.com.au
- Create a copy of the a subfolder of your sites folder, for example customer1
- Open the index.php file in the copied subfolder:
- Change the $listid value to match the listing's ID; the easiest way is to navigate to the More Info page of the listing in your directory and the ID will be shown in the URL
- Optional: change the $css value to any of the CSS subfolders, for example gr or pup
- Enter the correct GoogleMap key for either your domain or the customer's domain as the value for $key
- Upload the file
- Create a subdomain or add a domain name in your hosting administration panel to point to the subfolder
- The mod comes with two styles:
- gr, see an example here: http://www.goldroo.com.au
- pup, see an example here: http://website.goldroo.com
- To create a new style, make a copy of any of the CSS subfolders and modify as required.
- Images used in the styles are in the images folder
Register your domains for your customers' websites at domains.goldroo.net and they can enjoy free email forwarding.
